On March 3, a unique meeting with the famous Ukrainian hacker Mykyta Knysh took place in the Creative Space of the National University of Information and Communication Sciences. The event brought together everyone interested in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and information protection issues. Among the participants were students of the Higher School of Advanced Studies “RFK NUBiP of Ukraine” majoring in 125 “Cybersecurity and Information Protection,” who had the opportunity to directly communicate with the expert and learn about current challenges in the field of information security.
During the meeting, Mykyta Knysh shared his experience in the field of cybersecurity, talked about the most common threats that companies and government agencies face, and explained the mechanisms of hacking systems and methods of protecting them. Special attention was paid to the issues of ethical hacking and how to use the skills of penetrating systems for good - to strengthen and improve them.
The students learned what techniques modern cybercriminals use and how to protect themselves from their attacks. They examined real cases where attackers gained access to confidential information, and analyzed in detail the methods of identifying and eliminating vulnerabilities. Of particular interest was the discussion of social engineering - a technique based on psychological manipulation and allowing hackers to obtain the necessary data, even without using complex technical means.
The knowledge gained can become the basis for further improvement of skills in the field of cybersecurity. Students understood how important it is to think like a hacker in order to be one step ahead of attackers, and how to effectively build protection for digital systems. Such meetings motivate self-development, help to understand the real picture of modern cyberspace and find their place in this dynamic and promising field.
