Modern youth need a high level of general education to successfully master the basics of their chosen profession. The organization of training for first-year students is handled by the college's general education department, established in 2004. Its work is aimed at improving the level of knowledge, skills and abilities mastered by today's students in high school, organizing creative activities that will allow yesterday's schoolchildren to quickly, painlessly and interestingly go through the difficult path of social adaptation.
Throughout its history, the department has had 7 to 13 groups of 185 to 370 students. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the department has 449 students in 16 study groups.
Since its foundation, the department has been headed by a specialist of the highest qualification category, teacher-methodologist Valeriy Dmytrovych Humenyuk.
The work of the department is provided by two cyclical commissions: general education and humanitarian disciplines. Implementing a comprehensive approach to the formation of content and organization of the educational process, teachers work hard to improve their pedagogical skills by studying the best pedagogical experience, implementing new educational technologies. The timely mastery and involvement of the latest methods in the educational process is facilitated by the participation of teachers in the work of regional methodological associations. The teachers of the department systematically improve their qualifications, participate in scientific and pedagogical conferences.
Thanks to the hard work of teachers, first-year students successfully study and have fun. After all, nothing brings people closer together like leisure activities spent together, group trips, excursions, and themed evenings. At the department of general education, yesterday's entrants become real students and join the friendly team of the college.
