Practical Learning: The Key to Professional Success

Practical training is an important component of both higher and professional pre-university education, which provides students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and develop practical skills necessary for their future careers, preparing them for successful entry into the professional field.

Practical training of college students is a mandatory component of all educational and professional programs of professional junior bachelor's and higher education.

The organization of practical training of students is regulated by the Laws of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, “On Professional Pre-Higher Education”, the Regulation “On Conducting Practice for Students of Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine”, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine dated 08.04.1993 No. 93, the Regulation “On Practical Training of Applicants for Professional Pre-Higher Education”, approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated May 2, 2023 No. 510.

Students' internships are conducted at appropriately equipped college facilities, as well as at modern enterprises, organizations, and institutions, regardless of their organizational and legal forms and forms of ownership, whose scientific and technical level meets the requirements of the internship work program and which also create conditions for students' professional growth.

According to the content and purpose of internships in college, they are divided into the following types:

  • teaching practice;
  • production (technological, operational, design, pedagogical, medical, economic, sports camps and specialized training in a sport, etc., depending on the specialty (specialization) in which applicants for professional pre-higher education are trained) practice;
  • pre-graduate internship.

The types and scope of internships in the college are determined by the standards of higher and professional pre-higher education for each educational program and are reflected in the curricula (duration, term of implementation). The content and sequence of internships are determined by the schedule of the educational process, which is developed by the educational part and approved by the director of the college. Cyclic commissions develop programs of relevant internships and methodological recommendations that will help ensure high quality of student internships.

Teaching practice

Training practice, including excursion, familiarization, laboratory, etc., is conducted to complete the formation of competencies provided for by the educational and professional program, familiarization with equipment, devices and technologies in accordance with the specialty.

Internship is conducted during a specially designated period of the academic year or in parallel with academic classes, taking into account the duration of study time for students and the form of obtaining professional pre-higher education.

Industrial, pre-graduate internship

Industrial, pre-diploma internships are conducted to gain experience in applying acquired competencies, using equipment, devices and technologies in accordance with the specialty, mastering modern forms of labor organization and familiarizing with the conditions for conducting professional activities. The task of pre-diploma internships is also to collect factual material for the performance of qualification work (diploma project).

Practice bases

The determination of practice bases is carried out by the college management on the basis of direct agreements with enterprises, organizations, institutions, regardless of their organizational and legal forms and forms of ownership. Students can independently, in agreement with the college management, select a practice base for themselves and offer it for use.

The main bases of practice of our college are the Rumyanets bakery, the Rivne branch of PJSC Oschadbank, the Epicenter hypermarket chain for economic specialties; Renome Smart LLC, Aprays Center LLC, Energocenter RV LLC for young IT technology specialists; Rivne Department of the State Enforcement Service, city and commercial courts of Rivne region, law offices for lawyers, Private Enterprise MVM-Plus, Private Enterprise Budtech-prom LLC, Private Enterprise Zemlebudproekt for builders, Private Enterprise Konvest-proekt and Private Enterprise Rost for future graduates of the specialty "Geodesy and Land Management" and many others.

Internship is a part of the professional career of a future specialist, since quite often the internship base becomes the first place of work for our future graduate. That is why the priority area of work is establishing connections with enterprises-internship bases.
