| Goal | Formation of knowledge and skills in students necessary for effective processing of information presented in graphic form; mastering theoretical material and practical mastery of modern graphic and information technologies and computer tools and environments for creating, processing and visualizing raster and vector images; mastering the ability to create new images and edit existing ones. |
| Direction | Study of the capabilities, tools, technologies and areas of application of computer graphics; principles of constructing raster and vector graphic images; basic parameters of computer images; principles of organization and types of color models; concepts of graphic file formats, their main characteristics and conversions; methods of image processing in raster and vector graphic editors; use of images in office and hypertext documents, printed publications and multimedia products; study of the functionality of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator software for creating drawings and processing photographs. |

| List of competencies being improved/acquired | Development of general, professional, and integral competencies: – the ability to solve specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of software engineering; – the ability to use professionally-oriented knowledge and skills in the field of practical use of computer technologies. – basic knowledge of the basics of drawing and painting and art history and the ability to use this knowledge in professional activities; – basic knowledge of the basics of design and photography and the ability to use this knowledge in professional activities. |
| Expected learning outcomes | – be able to use the tools used in the computer programs Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator; – freely create various images using computer programs; – perform design and graphic tasks in computer programs; – use various types of graphic techniques and apply them in computer programs; – convert graphic files from one format to another and export and import images between different programs; – process raster and vector images (photographs, web graphics, advertising posters); – create artistic effects using masks, filters, layers; – develop booklets, postcards, illustrations for web pages, retouch and restore photographs, create collages; – prepare graphics for posting on the Internet; – be able to prepare a file in electronic form for further printing. |
