College Museum

The Museum of the History of the Separate Structural Unit “Rivne Professional College of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine” began operating in September 2013. The initiator of the creation of the museum was the director of the college, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Yaroslav Petrovych Korsun.

The idea of creating a museum was supported by the entire teaching staff of the college. For more constructive work, search groups were created. The task of one of them was to work with archival materials that are in the college's archival funds. The main sources of information were the books of directors' orders, starting from 1956, and the personal files of teachers and employees. Work was also organized with the funds of the regional archive. All the information collected in this way made it possible to establish the exact date of creation and the main milestones in the development of the institution. By searching the archives, it was possible to recreate information about teachers who worked in different periods, to name the approximate number of graduates and the entire period of the institution's operation, to determine when and how the name of the college changed, and new specialties were opened. Work with archival materials was one of the basic directions in the process of creating a college museum.

Another group of teachers worked with veterans of the institution. In this way, they received information about teachers who previously worked at the educational institution. In the course of this work, a large number of photos and documents were collected, which are now placed on the museum stands. An important source was the personal albums of teachers. Sometimes it happened that the information from them became the basis for creating individual stands. Veterans gave personal belongings, educational devices, models that are in the museum exposition. Information about traditions at the institution, meetings of students with famous people, students' leisure time, competitions and sports competitions was valuable.

Another part of the research was working with print media. This way, it was possible to establish where, when, and under what circumstances the educational institution was mentioned.

An important direction of work was the analysis of the information received. During the creation of the museum, appropriate criteria were selected. When working with archival documents, it was important to establish the authenticity, value of the information received, chronology, names, proper names. When selecting photographs, it was important to establish the persons depicted in them, the discipline, and the approximate time of the lesson. The main conditions for selecting photo documents were: the mandatory presence of a teacher, students, the availability of visual aids, and teaching aids. Therefore, each of these photographs reflects the educational process of past years, and also highlights the specifics of teaching a certain discipline. In the process of searching for materials for the exhibition, it was important to find things, devices, textbooks, and manuals in order to convey the atmosphere of learning at that time. This was partially achieved, but work in this direction is still ongoing.

The materials were prepared by teachers Boyko Myroslava Vasylivna, Talimonchuk Oleksandr Hryhorovych, Kovalchuk Serhiy Vasylivych, Buslenko Halyna Mykhailivna, Khrystyanovich Volodymyr Mykolayovych, Zazhytsky Serhiy Olehovych, as well as the head of the library and information center Buryachynska Lyudmila Vasylivna.

All stands in the museum are thematic and reflect a specific period in the history of the institution. The layout is based on the problem-chronological principle. The stands are located around the perimeter of the room clockwise. The materials of the expositions are mainly archival documents, devices, educational literature, awards, albums, newspapers. Two thematic turnstiles significantly complement the museum exposition. One highlights information about teachers and is filled mainly with photographs, the other contains brief biographical data of the most successful and famous graduates of the college.

Of particular note is the stand "Heroes Do Not Die", dedicated to college graduates who died in the fight for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine during the Russian-Ukrainian war. Biographies and photos of the heroes can be viewed in the museum.

For the 50th anniversary of the institution, the book "History of the Perfection of the Personality" was published. This was the work of the entire college staff, which significantly helped in the process of creating the college museum. For the 60th anniversary, a book about graduates "From Knowledge to Success" was published, which became the basis for creating a turnstile about graduates. For the 70th anniversary of the college and in connection with the institution's entry into the structure of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, the book "Under the Wing of the University: Choosing a Profession, and Establishing Yourself as a Specialist" was published. The above publications can be viewed in the college museum and library.
