National University of Life
and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine"
On April 24, 2024, in the library and information center of the college, the leading librarian Andriychuk S. V. held an evening-requiem "The Lost World of Chernobyl", dedicated to the day of remembrance of the Chernobyl tragedy. The event was attended by students of the 11-P and 11-Z groups, teachers Kurylas T. V., Lysyak O. M. From the thematic presentation, those present received interesting information about the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
The Chernobyl disaster is a man-made ecological and humanitarian disaster caused by two thermal explosions and the subsequent destruction of the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, located in Ukraine, on the night of April 26, 1986. The disaster is considered the largest in the history of nuclear energy, both in terms of the number of people killed and injured from its consequences, and in terms of economic damage.
The Chernobyl disaster became a warning to all of humanity about how fragile our future can be with uncontrolled radiation.
To mark the memorable date, a thematic book exhibition "Chernobyl - the Sorrow of Human Memory" has been opened in the reading room of the college's library and information center. We invite you to view it.
