Open educational event "Patriots of Ukraine - the history of their hometown"

On March 13, 2024, an open meeting of the club “My Little Homeland” was held with the interactive project “Patriots of Ukraine: History and Modernity”. The theme of the event was “Pages of the History of the City of Rivne”. The permanent speaker of the project was Galina BUSLENKOHer interlocutors and guests were the Deputy Director for Educational Work Oleksandr TALIMONCHUK, leading librarian of the library of the Rivne Medical Academy Tamara KARPENKO, student of 11-D group Mariana KARPENKO and Head of the BIC VSP "RFK NUBiP of Ukraine" Lyudmila BURYACHYNSKAThe participants of the event are students of groups 21-Z and 21-DZ.

"Patriotism, war, history and modernity are current topics of research, discussions, deliberations, hearings.. But today we will listen to the history of our magical city during the period of Maria Nesvytska, the princes of Lubomirsky and other periods in its more than seven hundred-year history. We will also discuss modern problems of preserving monuments and look for ways to solve problems," noted Halyna Mykhailivna.

Guided students through the historical paths of Rivne Tamara Naumivna KARPENKO. She noted that the first known written mention of Rivne as one of the settlements of the Galicia-Volyn Principality dates back to 1283. This is a record in Latin in the Polish chronicle "Rochnik Kapitulny Krakowsk". And then there were historical mentions of different centuries and years. In her story, Ms. Tamara raised the issue of preserving the historical memory of both an entire people and her own clan, family, and household.

During the event, poems and songs about the city were performed by a student from the 11th grade. Mariana KARPENKO.

Employees of the library and information center prepared a book exhibition "My Hometown...".  Lyudmila BURYACHYNSKA introduced those present to the anniversary edition of the "Peresopnytsia Gospel: Origins and Present", the modern edition of the "Ostroh Bible", and the scientific illustrated edition of Volodymyr Nedyak's "Ukraine - Cossack State".

The event was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere – rich, interesting, and fruitful.
