I was dying on the battlefield with you, I felt my breath stop above us, the Virgin Mary cried, she washed us quietly with hot tears, she whispered – I am with you differently – how?! My soul wandered near the cold bodies, near the open wounds, I looked for you – I didn’t find you – you left, you disappeared over the horizon. I – I will wait for the exchange, I will wait from captivity, I will wait – until my death Ruslana Bronovitska
“You Won’t Give Birth to Him a Second Time.” This is the title of the first book of poems written by Rivne director, screenwriter, journalist, and public figure Ruslana Bronovitska, which was presented in the exhibition hall of the City House of Culture. The book contains poems-reflections, poems-memories, a dialogue with herself after her son Dmytro Paskar, a warrior and defender, went missing in the war. Ruslana began writing poems after her Dima disappeared in October 2023. For over a year, the family has not heard from him. According to the poetess, the collection contains 16 poems that she wrote over the course of three months. The poetry collection was translated into Spanish, and in 2025, the defender’s mother plans to present it in Spain for those who have supported Ukraine since the beginning of martial law. The artist-illustrator for the book is Natalia Servetnyk.
In the words of Tat Rivne, a writer and public figure, "the power of Ruslana Bronovitska's words grew from great love and great pain, melted in the crucible of her waiting, and now, with the metal rims of lines, they simultaneously squeeze the head and heart. This book is not a book of weeping, nor a book of regret. A mother's book managed to do the impossible - to revive her son for all of us, to make him clear and visible through the thin haze of Ruslana's texts."
In the words of Olena Medvedeva, a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, a psychologist, "I reread and study this light, I peer into the poem and see her son in the cradle, between heaven and earth. And I hear her rhymed confessional prayers about how a mother is waiting for her son to come home..."
The author kindly signed the poetry collection for the college library.

Pray for Dmytro and for all the sons and daughters who defend our country and have not returned to their homes! Pray for those who are waiting! May all families wait for their children from the front!!!
As long as the wind sways my ripe hair, I will remember the color of your hair, As long as the nights are burning with stars, I will dream of your eyes, As long as the world is held up by three whales – there will be faith, hope and you, As long as the earth is sown with rye, you will live, I tell you – you will live!
