Students of the programming department joined the webinar held by the IT company "SoftServe"

On February 9, 2024, students of the Programming Department joined a webinar on the topic, “Enrolled in IT, what next?”. The organizer of the event is the faculty IT NUBiP of Ukraine, invited the company as guests SoftServe.

SoftServe: one of the largest and oldest Ukrainian IT companies. Its history began in Lviv in 1993. Today, SoftServe is engaged in IT consulting, software development and provides services in the field of digital technologies. Last year, the company's staff increased by 70% - and now has more than 13,000 employees. SoftServe's annual revenue, according to Forbes, is over 9 billion UAH. The company is valued at over $1 billion.

The event began with a welcoming speech by a lecturer from the Department of Information Systems and Technologies of NUBiP of Ukraine, Sayapina Taisiya PetrovnaIn her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of such initiatives for students who have chosen the IT field and expressed her hope that the webinar would be an interesting and educational experience for IT professionals.

Yevheniy Udovychenko presented his unique experience in the IT sector and emphasized the importance of the role of various specialists in this segment of the industry, noting that the IT sector includes not only programmers, but also many other specialists on whom the company's success depends.

The following issues were addressed by the professional speaker:

  • what are the directions in IT;
  • how to study properly to become a professional;
  • what sources to use;
  • how to get your first experience and internship.

The conclusion that can be drawn is that the IT industry offers a variety of areas for development, including software development, databases, network technologies and artificial intelligence. To become an IT professional, it is important to combine self-study, formal education and practical experience, and to gain first-hand experience, it is important to engage in internships, develop your own projects and create a portfolio. In general, successful development in IT requires a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical experience, constant improvement and interaction with a community of professionals.
