On March 19, the writer and poet of the sixties, a classic of Ukrainian literature, Lina Kostenko, celebrates her 94th birthday. Kostenko does not have social networks or blogs, but she continues to be quoted and she herself constantly appears on lists of the most prominent Ukrainians.

"A slow job is an anniversary, all the pens are dipped in oil," - this is how Kostenko herself ironically describes the excitement that occurs annually before her birthday. She also does not like poetic epithets next to her name, such as "queen of poetry", "conscience of the nation", or "living classic". But one way or another, her role for Ukrainian literature is difficult to overestimate. And one of the minor planets of the Solar System is even named in her honor - the name "Lina Kostenko" was given to the planet in 2015.

So, to mark the 94th anniversary of the birth of the beloved poetess of modern Ukraine, Lina Kostenko, a book exhibition about her work has been opened at the library and information center. We invite you to view it.

And may we all be inspired by Lina Vasylivna's statement in this difficult time: “A person supposedly cannot fly…But he has wings. And he has wings!”
