Всесвітній день поезії

Poetry is the music of the soul! 21.03 – World Poetry Day

Poetry is a celebration like love.
Oh, that's not everyday talk.
Lina Kostenko

World Poetry Day is a holiday celebrated every year on March 21. It was established in 1999 by a resolution of the 30th session of UNESCO.

World Poetry Day first appeared in the Ukrainian calendar in 2004. On this day, poets unite, organize literary evenings, recite poems on the streets of cities and proudly declare themselves. Poems of the most talented masters of the artistic word are published in the media. The prophetic words of Taras Shevchenko, the strong female poetry of Lesya Ukrainka, the powerful word of Ivan Franko, the magical poetry of Lina Kostenko, the lyrical sonnets of William Shakespeare and Francesco Petrarch sound throughout the world and in different languages, the poems of Vasyl Symonenko, Vasyl Stus, Borys Oliynyk, Pavlo Tychyna amaze with their romantic excitement and generosity of feelings, subtle, penetrating lyrics. These names enter our lives from childhood and will remain with us forever. Poetry... It will comfort, embrace, and caress, and penetrate the secrets of the human soul. Everyone finds in them something of their own, close and understandable.

As part of the all-Ukrainian information and educational campaign “National Reading Week. Poetry Week”, a book exhibition “Poetry is the music of the soul!” has been opened in the college’s library and information center. We invite everyone to visit the exhibition and immerse themselves in the unique world of poetic confession.

Valeria Chorna, a student of the 12th grade group, and Alla Kalyuzhna, a librarian, prepared a poetic composition. This year's motto for the poetry week, "Rivers Flow Unfailingly Home," is about those who protect our homes and those who await the return of the heroes with hope and faith.
