Poetry is a celebration like love.
Oh, that's not everyday talk.
(Lina Kostenko)
On March 18, 2025, a literary evening dedicated to World Poetry Day was held in the college library and information center by the leading librarian Andriychuk S. V. for students of the 31-F group (curator Krystopchuk T. Ye.) and the 21-Y group (curator Matkovska I. D.).
WITH tematic presentation "Lina Kostenko. The Magical World of Poetry", dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the famous Ukrainian poetess Lina Vasylivna Kostenko, the attendees received interesting information about the writer.
Students of the 31-F group - Myroslava Davydovych, Tetyana Peleshanko, and Iryna Tymoshchuk read poetry by Lina Kostenko.
Lina Vasylivna is an honorary professor of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, an honorary doctor of Lviv National University, an honorary doctor of Chernivtsi National University, a laureate of the Taras Shevchenko State Prize (1987, for the novel "Marusya Churay" and the collection "Uniqueness"), a laureate of the O. Teliga International Literary and Artistic Prize (2000). She was awarded the Honorary Medal of the President of Ukraine (1992), the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, V degree (March 2000), and the "Golden Writer of Ukraine" award (2012).
Lina Vasylivna has been helping the Ukrainian army since the annexation of Crimea. In 2015, during Russia’s first attempts to tear our country apart, Lina Vasylivna sent humanitarian aid and poetry collections with words of support to the ATO zone. On the title of one of her books, the poetess wrote by hand the now legendary verses about the “little gray man” who committed a black disaster. And she prophetically warned the world: “Where are you looking, people?! Today it’s us, and tomorrow it’s you.” Lina Kostenko is still participating in military training, one of which she did together with Serhiy Prytula. The poetess signed 10 different books of hers for the giveaway. “In exactly two days, almost 4 million hryvnias were collected. This money went to purchase the Furia UAV complex for one of the intelligence units. Lina Vasylivna was happy!
In the reading room of the college's library and information center, book exhibitions "Poetry - an immortal touch to the soul" and "Lina Kostenko. The magical world of poetry" are open. We invite you to read.
