Introductory lecture on the topic "Theoretical and methodological principles of sustainable development of the agrosphere of river basins (using the example of the Horyn River)"

On February 19, 2024, ecology teacher Stefania MALYMON and students of the specialty "Geodesy and Land Management" became participants in the educational event of the "Pohoryna" charitable foundation, namely an introductory lecture on the topic "Theoretical and methodological principles of sustainable development of the agrosphere of river basins (using the example of the Horyn River)". The lecture was given by Mykola Klymenko (Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection Technology and Forestry of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Agroecology and Land Management of the National University of Agriculture and Forestry).

In his report, he considered the issue of determining the index of socio-economic development and zoning of the territory of the Horyn River basin according to integrated indicators of social, economic and environmental development, as well as determining the integral level of environmental “safety - danger”. As a result of the study by Mykola Klymenko, zoning of the territory of the Horyn River basin according to the integrated index of socio-economic and environmental development was developed.

Representatives of various fields of activity took part in the discussion of this topic, in particular:

– Volodymyr Zakharchuk, Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Rivne Regional State Administration;

– Tetyana Basyuk, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Geology and Hydrology of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy, Automation and Water Management of the National University of Hydrology;

– Mykola Fedoryshyn, head of the Ulas Samchuk Literary Museum, culturologist, local historian, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine;

– Stefania Malymon, teacher of ecology of the Separated Structural Unit “Rivne Professional College of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Management of Ukraine”.

We also discussed the issues of cooperation between our institution and the Pohoryna Charitable Foundation regarding the implementation of environmental projects.
