The cyclical commission of land management disciplines of the land and legal department traditionally invites practicing specialists from production to classes, who conduct guest lectures, seminars, and master classes.
On November 4, 2024, the bachelor's students of the OPP "Geodesy and Land Management" of the 5th group were visited by a master class on the topic "Z-d modeling is a relevant direction of professional activity of a land surveyor specialist", a graduate of the college, Mariana NIKOLAYCHUK, a land surveyor engineer of LLC "GRANDPROEKTBUD", which was held within the framework of the academic discipline "Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing".
Mariana NIKOLAYCHUK began her speech with the words "education is a treasure; work is the key to it", because high-quality education, constant improvement and acquisition of new competencies are the key to personal and professional success. In the introductory part of the master class, Mariana talked about her own path to success. She took her first steps into the profession while still a student.
In the part of the presentation of experience, the speaker shared the acquired competencies of work in the field of photogrammetry in creating 3-D models of various terrain objects and structures using cameras and UAVs. She demonstrated the main stages of creating a project: from marking to creating a 3-D model of the object. The processing of the cloud of points of digital images is carried out using the programs Agisoft PhotoScan Professional and Edition and Bentley ContextCapture.
As a result, the craftswoman answered a number of questions from students and teachers on the topic. A lively discussion took place, which provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the complex processes of 3D modeling.
And as experience shows, involving professionals in conducting motivational classes is a positive practice that sets young people up to acquire practical skills in the field of geodesy and land management, and also helps to navigate in choosing a future activity. We should note that such events are a great opportunity for all of us to get acquainted with new directions in the development of the industry, and for those seeking education - an opportunity to gain inspiration and new knowledge that will be useful in the future.
