Guest lecture by Dr. Morten Hartvigsen and Kristina Mitić-Arsova: Experience in implementing land consolidation in North Macedonia and prospects for land consolidation and land banking in the European dimension

On March 6, 2024, teachers of land management disciplines and students of specialty 193 "Geodesy and Land Management" joined a guest lecture by famous European experts - Dr. Morten Hartvigsen, FAO Land Use and Food and Agriculture Officer, FAO Regional Initiatives Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia, and Kristina Mitich-Arsova, FAO Team Leader in North Macedonia.

The event was held as part of a series of lectures on the topic "Land Resources Management and Land Market Development in the Context of Ukraine's Integration into the EU", organized by Faculty of Land Management of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Management of Ukraine and the component "Expert Dialogue on Land Issues" project "German-Ukrainian Agro-Political Dialogue (APD)".

The lecturers shared their experience in implementing the land consolidation project in North Macedonia, which was implemented during 2014-2023 and was aimed at solving the problem of fragmentation of agricultural land and increasing the competitiveness of agricultural production. The lecture raised policy issues FAO  on land consolidation in Europe and the prospects for land consolidation and land banking in the European dimension.

The information material contributed to the formation of cognitive interest and professional skills among students.
