March 19, 2024 for students of education 193 "Geodesy and Land Management" passed guest lecture on the topic "Intensive technology of growing agricultural crops"". The scientific speaker of the event is the head of the plant growing department of the Institute of Agriculture of Western Polissya NAAS, candidate of agricultural sciences, KURACH Oksana.
The Institute is a zonal agricultural research institution that serves three agro-climatic zones: Western Polissya, Western Forest-Steppe and Small Polissya. The zones differ significantly in soil types and hydrothermal conditions, which necessitates a differentiated approach in the process of scientific support for the development of agricultural production. After all, each zone requires its own set of crops, crop rotations, tillage systems and fertilization.

"Intensive technology is a complex of agrotechnical methods of growing crops, technological means and operations aimed at maximizing the biological potential of crop productivity (their varieties and hybrids) by increasing the efficiency of using natural and anthropogenic factors while minimizing labor and material resources," said Ms. Oksana.
New and promising agricultural crops for our region are sunflower and rapeseed. These industrial crops are highly profitable for agricultural producers, but only if all technological processes of cultivation and care for crops are observed. The scientist presented the results of her research on the development of progressive technologies for growing sunflower and rapeseed. In particular, she noted that if all technological conditions are observed, an additional 20 thousand UAH can be obtained from each hectare.
After the scientific presentation, a discussion took place on the prospects for such research, the impact of sunflower and rapeseed on soils and the environment, and the possibilities of cooperation between the institute and the educational institution.
The scientific lecture was held in the reading room of the Rivne Regional Universal Scientific Library with the assistance of the department of information and documents of the production subjects of the institution.
