Meeting with a lawyer from the Rokada Charitable Foundation on the topic: "Labor legislation. First employment. Job search mechanism"

On the occasion of the week of economic disciplines for students of the economics department, a meeting was held on October 25, 2024 with a lawyer from the Rokada Charitable Foundation Yulia KARPOVETS. Topic of the meeting: "Labor legislation. First employment. Job search mechanism."

The aim of the event was to organize the preparation of students for the beginning of their professional activity, providing them with practical knowledge of labor legislation and the rights they have as employees. Special emphasis was placed on the mechanisms of effective job search, which is critically important for young specialists who are just starting their professional path.

The meeting was organized and conducted by the head of the BITs Lyudmila BURYACHYNSKA, graduate employment specialist Nataliya PASTUSHENKO, head of production practice Taras SASOVSKYY, and head of the cyclical commission of economic disciplines Oksana KONONCHUK.

During the meeting, the lawyer spoke about labor legislation, its changes during martial law, and also got acquainted with the state of the labor market, which has significantly changed due to the war. The students also learned about innovations aimed at protecting the rights of employees in conditions of increased instability, and the peculiarities of concluding employment contracts during this period.

Yulia KARPOVETS paid special attention to the topic of first employment for young specialists. She emphasized that in the conditions of a difficult economic situation and a limited number of vacancies, young people face additional challenges: fierce competition, the need to adapt to new working conditions and specific market requirements dictated by the war.

To help students better prepare for the start of their careers, the lawyer provided a number of practical tips for finding a job. In particular, she gave some advice on:

1. Writing a quality resume – focus on your skills that can be quickly adapted to different working conditions.

2. Active use of professional networks - LinkedIn, specialized platforms and contacts with alumni and teachers.

3. Flexibility and willingness to learn – be open to new work formats, including remote and part-time work, which have become popular due to the circumstances of the war.

During the meeting, the students happily asked the invited guest questions, which Ms. Yulia happily answered.

The lawyer emphasized that young professionals should maintain a positive attitude, work on their skills, and believe in themselves. Ms. Yulia urged students not to be afraid of challenges, but to perceive them as an opportunity for professional growth and self-development.

Thank you for hosting an interesting and meaningful meeting!
