In order to popularize STEM education and raise public awareness of the importance of STEM education for scientific and technological progress and economic development of the state, the All-Ukrainian STEM Day was held within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Festival "STEM Spring - 2025". Under the guidance of teachers Yulia Yukhymchuk and Lyudmila Petrivska An exciting STEM lesson "Practical application of the derivative" was held for 1st year students, specialty 121 Software Engineering of the Higher Educational Service "RFK NUBiP of Ukraine". The following also actively participated in the lesson: Iryna Veremchuk and Yuriy Novak, which contributed to the creation of an interactive and cognitive learning environment.
The integrated lesson successfully combined mathematics, physics, computer science, and English.
Students developed skills in the practical use of the derivative in physics, explored its application in solving vital problems, improved the ability to use knowledge in non-standard situations, and discussed the importance of the derivative for analyzing real processes in various spheres of human activity. The derivative is widely used not only in solving purely mathematical problems, but also in solving practical problems in various fields of science, technology, economics, and medicine. It is an important tool for analyzing changes, optimizing processes, and modeling real phenomena.
In order to get acquainted with the prospects for the development of aviation and aircraft, it was necessary to translate the text from English. The students coped with this task quickly and confidently, demonstrating their foreign language skills and ability to work with technical texts. They also printed an airplane model using a 3D printer, demonstrating their ability to apply innovative technologies in practice.
Students focused on how modern technologies affect everyday life and their decisive role in shaping the future of society.
