On March 12, 2025, an open binary lesson in the academic disciplines "Land Management Planning" and "Informatics" was held, dedicated to the use of 3D printers in the field of geodesy and land management. This event was a great opportunity for students to learn about advanced technologies and their practical application.
Purpose of the lesson: to introduce students to the principles of 3D printers and their application in the field of geodesy and land management; to show the practical application of 3D printing technology to create layouts of land plots and other objects; to reveal the possibilities of using 3D modeling for visualizing land management projects; to show the connection between the discipline of computer science and practical use in geodesy and land management.
The class took the form of a binary lecture with elements of a lecture-demonstration, a problem-based and interactive lecture.
During the lesson, teachers Novak Yuriy Petrovych and Rusina Nelya Grigorivna introduced the students to:
Application of 3D printing in geodesy: Students learned how 3D printing is used to create accurate models of terrain, buildings, and other objects, which is important for geodetic measurements and analysis.
Application in land management: The possibilities of using 3D printing to create land plot layouts, development planning, and visualization of land management projects were discussed.
3D Printing Basics: The principles of operation of 3D printers, types of materials, and software for 3D modeling were considered.
Practical examples: Students had the opportunity to see a demonstration of a 3D printer and see examples of 3D printed models used in geodesy and land management.
A video was shown that clearly showed the structure of a 3D printer and the process of its operation.
An important function of 3D printers is the creation of model shapes, which allows for detailed accurate layouts of land plots and helps improve the visualization of projects in planning. The built model models of relief models, buildings and other objects facilitate analysis and decision-making.
Yuriy NOVAK, a computer science teacher, noted: "3D printing is a technology that is already changing the field of geodesy and land management. Our task is to prepare you to work with these innovations."
Nelya RUSINA, a teacher of land planning, emphasized: "The use of 3D printers makes it possible to create very high-quality layouts of land plots - this simplifies the work of specialists and has a very good effect on the visualization of projects."
The open class was an important step in the training of future specialists in geodesy and land management. The use of 3D printers opens up new opportunities for increasing the accuracy and efficiency of work in these fields. Applicants will be able to successfully apply this knowledge in practice, contributing to the development of innovative technologies in Ukraine.
