On May 7, 2025, the Yaroslav Mudryi National Library of Ukraine held a webinar "Professional Standard "Librarian": Questions and Answers", which was attended by college librarians.
The main speaker is Natalia Rozkolupa, Deputy Director General for Research.
The webinar was broadcast on Facebook pages "Scientific and Methodological Department of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Bank"
The professional standard "Librarian" was approved by Order of the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education (State Arts) dated March 10, 2025 No. 17.
On March 18, 2025, the National Qualifications Agency (NAK) entered information about the standard into the Register of Qualifications.
This document was prepared by a working group consisting of representatives of national and state libraries, higher and pre-higher education institutions, and the Trade Union of Cultural Workers of Ukraine.
The professional standard "Librarian" refers to the profession defined by the National Classifier of Ukraine DK 003:2010 "Classifier of Professions" as 2432.2 "Librarian" and classified as professionals, which implies a high level of knowledge in the field of humanities.
The specified professional standard establishes requirements for the positions: librarian, librarian of the second category, librarian of the first category, and leading librarian.
The State Service of Arts has also begun developing professional standards for "Bibliographer" and "Librarian Specialist".
