To mark the 120th anniversary of the birth of Ulas Samchuk, a 12th grade student, Natalia Koldunovich, presented her work at the ROUNB: “Three Muses in the Life of Ulas Samchuk: Maria Zots, Tetyana Prakhova, Olena Teliga.”
Ulas Samchuk is a prominent Ukrainian writer, journalist and publicist, editor, UMMAN laureate, member of the UNR government in exile, member of the Slovo OUP. Founder and editor of the Rivne newspaper Volyn.
Samchuk is one of the best prose writers of the 20th century. He was well known in Europe. Foreign literary critics called him the “Ukrainian Homer”, indicating that it was he who discovered the unknown Ukraine to the world. Author of the trilogy “Volyn”, “The Mountains Speak”, “Maria”, “The Youth of Vasyl Sheremety”.
Every creative person has their own Muse, their own source of inspiration. Representatives of creative professions value their Muses the most, because they are not only provocateurs of new ideas, but also a source of special energy that nourishes the heart and thoughts.
The writer's life was full of vivid encounters and deep feelings. Three women played a special role in Samchuk's life and literary work: Maria Zots, Tetyana Prakhova, and Olena Teliga, who became his muses.
Despite the large number of publications about the writer's work, at the thematic event, our student presented Samchuk as a writer who was always looking for inspiration to create.
