On May 6, college students visited the Rivne Academic Music and Drama Theater.
One of the most famous works of M. Kotsiubynsky, "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", has been repeatedly performed on the stages of theaters around the world. The plot also excited filmmakers. Sergei Parajanov made a film of the same name, which became a masterpiece of Ukrainian cinema.
Kotsiubynskyi decided to write a work about the Carpathian highlanders after his stay in the Carpathians. The mountainous region seemed to him a fairy-tale corner, where everything captivated him with magic. He studied the life, customs, language and folklore of the Hutsuls. It was these observations and impressions that formed the basis of the work "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors."
Ivan and Marichka grow up in two warring families, the Paliychuk and the Gutenyuk, who have been in love with each other since childhood. They decide never to part and plan to get married. But they need money to live together. Ivan goes to the mountain pasture after them. It is at this time that Marichka tragically dies. How will Ivan live without his beloved? Will he be able to build a happy family with another?
