“Mariupol – I will return!” is the slogan of the event dedicated to the Day of the City of Mariupol. On September 25, 2024, students of the 11th and 12th grade groups with curators Yulia Yukhymchuk and Lyudmila BOYKO visited the Rivne Regional Universal Scientific Library, where they learned with interest the history of the city of Mariupol and immersed themselves in its architecture.

Bohdan Viktorovych Duzhyk, head of the YaMariupol center in Rivne, congratulated those present on the upcoming holiday. He emphasized that young people should learn history and never forget the price at which we fight for victory.

Yuzef Moiseyevich Nikolchenko – Honored Worker of Culture, Associate Professor at Mariupol University, who currently has the status of an IDP due to the war, spoke about the city's population, historical monuments, and the greatness and beauty of the city of Mariupol.

The hall fell silent when Andriy Rozhkov, the defender of Mariupol in 2014 and a soldier of the Azov battalion, spoke. At the end of his story, he performed a song dedicated to Mariupol for the first time.

Lyubov Pogrebenko, a songwriter and stand-up comedian and volunteer from Mariupol, was not released for a long time. Today, Mariupol residents are united by one unwavering desire: for the city to be de-occupied as soon as possible. To return to Mariupol and be able to rebuild it. And until this happens, we will continue to preserve the memory and share the true story of Mariupol.

Mariupol is a city of hope, invincibility and strength. We will always remember it as such. It lives in our hearts, it lives in each of us. We are fighting for its worthy future and believe that the time will come when Mariupol will be revived - it will become a symbol of the reconstruction of Donetsk region and Ukraine.
