On March 21, students of our college studying in the specialty "Cybersecurity and information protection", successfully completed their internship at the company MVCOM – a leading company in the field of information security, telecommunications and video surveillance.
During the internship, students not only became familiar with cybersecurity workflows, but also acquired a number of useful practical skills:
Security basics – at the beginning of the practice, the participants were thoroughly familiarized with the rules of occupational health and safety at the enterprise.
Professional development – students learned how to create a proper resume, which is a key step in finding employment in the IT and security field.
Video surveillance equipment – participants considered modern video surveillance systems, their characteristics and principles of operation.
Safety sensors – during the internship, we studied various sensors for motion, smoke, glass breakage, thermal radiation, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, and flooding.
Cable systems and networks – students learned about structured cabling systems (SCS), their standards and subsystems. They learned how to connect a patch cord to a connector, and also observed the process of soldering a fiber optic cable.
Financial security – the interns were told about banking systems, the principles of deposits, loans, and ATMs.
Management and communications – students learned about the work of a sales manager: how he finds partners, negotiates, and advises clients.
The role of HR in cybersecurity – the participants of the practice understood that human resources policy plays an important role in the development of the company.
- So, one of the key aspects of the training was the realization that Cybersecurity is not just about programmingIt includes:
- Network design and installation
- Establishing relationships with partners
- Transition from technical specialties to management positions
This experience allowed those who returned from the internship to be inspired and confident in choosing their future profession. Thank you MVCOM for interesting lectures, demonstrations, and the opportunity to see real work in the field of cybersecurity!
