On February 18, 2025, students of grades 11-M and 12-D, together with foreign language teachers T.V. Kurylas and O.M. Lysyak, visited the foreign language documents department of the Rivne Regional Universal Scientific Library and took part in an open educational event. "Stephen King. Fairy Tale. Presentation of the novel "The King of Horrors".
Stephen King is a world-famous American writer, the author of over 200 works, including 50 bestsellers in the horror genre. As of today, Stephen King is considered the richest writer in the history of world literature. In all his works, as in every fairy tale, good fights evil. And, probably, it was not for nothing that this writer was chosen by librarian Iryna Pavlush, the host of the event, since the war in Ukraine is also a battlefield of good and evil.
Since the start of the full-scale war, King has refused to cooperate with Russian publications. It is also known that he publicly stated that he supports the Ukrainians in this struggle. He published a photo in a T-shirt “I stand with Ukraine”, and also signed his posts with the words “Glory to Ukraine!”.
He also criticized Republicans when much-needed aid to the Ukrainian military was blocked. At the time, he wrote that radical Republicans in the House of Representatives were effectively killing the country.
Students had the opportunity to learn many interesting facts about the writer's life and creative path and watch excerpts from films based on his works.
At the end of the presentation, our applicants showed their intelligence and remarkable virtuosity during a quiz. "Can you guess the country from emojis?" / "Can you guess the country from the emoji?".
On the way to the foreign department, we visited the exhibition "Conversation in colors" our student from the 21-Z group Mulyar Mykola. Our college is rich in talents!
