The real Shevchenko is an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg! His cultural heritage includes over a thousand paintings, landscapes and engravings. He was a gifted sculptor. He taught painting at Kyiv University. He was a successful and sought-after portrait artist. Famous cultural figures, representatives of the highest nobility, and the most respected people had the honor of ordering a portrait from Shevchenko (of themselves or their family members). He dressed elegantly and tastefully, but was never ashamed of his origin. He met and made friends with the most outstanding people of his era. Charismatic, erudite, talented storyteller, a lover of jokes. Lover of life. He was fluent in foreign languages - Polish, French, German, Russian. He loved Ukraine most of all and was deeply moved by the difficult fate of the ordinary Ukrainian people:

Taras Shevchenko's poetic legacy includes over 240 works. His pictorial legacy includes about 1,300 works of fine art - easel painting, monumental and decorative painting, sculpture. He was a great master of watercolor, oil, pen, graphics, etching, and pencil drawing.

The presentation "Shevchenko the Artist" can be viewed at vocation.
