Practical lesson in the form of a master class on the operation of the AlphaGEO GeoPuls handheld GNSS receiver

On March 13, 2025, a master class on working with the AlphaGEO GeoPuls handheld GNSS receiver was held for students of the Geodesy and Land Management Department. The practical lesson was conducted by Serhiy BULAKEVYCH, a teacher of land management disciplines. The participants had the opportunity not only to familiarize themselves with the theoretical aspects of the device's operation, but also to test it in real conditions.

The goal of the event is to provide applicants with practical skills in working with modern GNSS equipment.

During the session, participants were introduced to the main functions and characteristics of AlphaGEO GeoPuls. The instructor spoke in detail about the technical capabilities of the receiver, its advantages and areas of application. Alpha GEO (α-GEO) L2 is the smallest geodetic GNSS receiver in the world, weighing less than 170 g. Despite its compact size, it has all the necessary functions. It is equipped with a high-performance OEM board, has 1408 channels and supports all satellites and all frequency ranges, ensuring stable operation even in difficult conditions. In addition, this receiver has an IMU module with fast initialization, does not require calibration and is resistant to magnetic interference. With its help, users can collect data or perform point measurements in topographic works with inclination angles up to 60 °. Thanks to its ultra-compact size, Alpha GEO (α-GEO) L2 can be used in various fields such as positioning, geoinformation industry, pipeline measurement and others.

Students independently conducted measurements using AlphaGEO GeoPuls and learned to process the obtained data.

The issues of surveying points without using a landmark were considered.

The master class was a valuable experience for all participants. They not only received theoretical knowledge, but also gained practical skills in working with modern GNSS equipment. AlphaGEO GeoPuls is a tool that opens up new opportunities for specialists in various fields.
