Carols are an ancient tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. Their sound not only gives a festive mood, but also reminds us of the rich cultural heritage of our people.
On January 5, 2025, the art project "Magic of Folklore. Polissya Kolyada" took place, dedicated to the Ukrainian New Year and Christmas holidays, and in particular the Polissya kolyada, which was presented by the Ethnocultural Center of the Palace of Children and Youth.
Authentic carols and schedrivkas, congratulations performed by 36 folklore groups and individual performers from Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Volyn, Kyiv sounded from the stage. The audience was moved to tears by the beginning of “The Magic of Folklore. Polesie Carols” – a performance by Iryna Rachkovska-Bakovetska and Ruslana Bronevitska (mother of the missing soldier Dmytro Paskar) “The Manger of Our Victory”, dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine. The event was attended by a student of the 11th grade group, Virstyuk Marianna, as part of the exemplary children's and youth choir “Vivat, music!”
The art project "Magic of Folklore. Polesie Carol" is not only a musical celebration, but also a reminder of the importance of preserving our traditions. It unites hearts, brings joy and inspires good deeds. Carols are a living part of our culture, which, thanks to such events, continues to delight new generations. The joint performance of carols at the end of the event created an unforgettable atmosphere that will remain in the hearts of those present for a long time. Such events help revive national traditions and strengthen cultural identity.
