Life often presents us with difficult challenges that seem insurmountable. But there are people whose willpower and determination prove that even the strongest obstacles can be overcome. One such example is Bear Maxim, education seeker 11-IP group, who, despite limited opportunities, actively participates in bocci competitions.
Sport quickly became not only a hobby for him, but also a way of self-expression and socialization. Through boccia, he was able to experience the joy of competition, communication with like-minded people, and reaching new heights.
During the year, Maksym took part in several tournaments. At each stage, he demonstrated incredible accuracy, endurance, and strategic thinking — key skills for success in boccia. The biggest achievements during this time:
- On December 14-16, 2024, the III Open Cup of the Nation's Indestructibility in boccia among athletes with musculoskeletal injuries was held in the city of Kovel. More than 50 athletes from the Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Transcarpathian, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi regions and the city of Kyiv took part in the competition. The Rivne region team at these competitions included 5 athletes from the RRC "Invasport" (Mariya Vityuk, Anastasia Shablyuk, Volodymyr Royko, Maxim Medved, Dmytro Sheruda). As a result, Maksym became the champion in individual competitions among men in the VS1 class and won the largest number of awards. Which gave the opportunity to the Rivne region team to confidently win first place in the overall team standings;
- From June 24 to 28, 2024, the Ukrainian Boccia Championship among athletes with musculoskeletal injuries was held in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk. Teams from 13 regions of Ukraine took part in these competitions. In the team competitions among athletes in the BC1/BC2 class, the team of Rivne region consisting of Volodymyr Royko, Maria Vityuk and Maxim Medved won bronze awards;
- From September 13 to 15, 2024, the open Transcarpathian Boccia Cup among athletes with musculoskeletal injuries was held in the city of Mukachevo, Zakarpattia region, dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sports. More than 50 athletes from 8 regions and the city of Kyiv took part in this sporting event. The bronze medal in the individual competitions among men in the VS1 class was won by Maxim Medved.
I sincerely congratulate you on your brilliant victory! Your success is the result of hard work, perseverance and incredible faith in yourself. You inspire us with your strength of spirit. May these victories be just the beginning of a long journey to even greater achievements. We are proud of you and your achievements! We wish you good health, new sporting heights and victories!
