It is not the first year that the VSP "RFK NUBiP of Ukraine" has been participating in an international hackathon. From January 20 to 26, 2025, the Global Game Jam was held at the Zagrava Games base - a global hackathon for game development, which is held simultaneously all over the world. This event brings together both experienced developers and beginners, creating a great opportunity to demonstrate professional skills or try yourself in game development for the first time, as well as get acquainted with all the stages of creating a game from scratch.

During the week, participants participated in various meetups, workshops, lectures, and streams, both international and local. This year's theme is Bubble, as well as games on information security and cyber hygiene.
The jammers enthusiastically formed teams in a remote format (“remotely”) and actively worked on game development. This year, participants were given a whole week to create a project – the deadline for game uploads was January 26.
Global Game Jam is primarily a social event aimed at getting to know enthusiasts and game development professionals, working in a team, and presenting created projects. The event's special feature is that all created projects are presented on equal terms, without a competitive component or ratings. However, the organizers Global Game Jam Ukraine traditionally hold a competition among Ukrainian projects to recognize the most promising developments that have the potential for further implementation.
Among the participants of the hackathon were also students of the information technology department of our college. Although their teams did not achieve high results, participation in the hackathon brought invaluable experience. All participants received gifts in memory of their participation in the international event for creating computer games.
Mentoring support for our students was provided by teachers, in particular Chernyak T.G., who helped the teams at every stage of project development.
We sincerely thank everyone who participated in this global hackathon. We wish the winners success and invite everyone who wants to participate in Global Game Jam 2026! We hope that the experience gained will be useful to those who dream of becoming a game developer. We wish you new achievements and inspiration!
