The professional competition "Best Online Library Service 2024", organized by the State Institution "NMC VFPO" for librarians of institutions of professional pre-higher education on the eve of the All-Ukrainian Library Day, has been completed. The goal of the competition is to activate the creative potential of librarians and introduce innovative forms and methods of library and information service to users.

Among the winners of the competition in the nomination “The best library page on social networks and on the ZFPO website” – Lyudmila Buryachynska, head of the library and information center of the VSP “RFK NUBiP of Ukraine» and Nadiya Parneta, head of the library of the Borshchiv Agrotechnical Vocational College. Congratulations! This is a high recognition of our experience in shaping the image of the library using social networks, our daily work to preserve the spiritual treasures of humanity, our professionalism and innovative development of libraries of educational institutions.

According to Oksana Bruy, President of the Ukrainian Library Association, Deputy Director General of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Bank:

"Libraries create the nation's memory and shape national identity, collect, preserve and provide public access to information sources, in particular documentary evidence of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Libraries develop human capital: they provide free access to information and offer opportunities for lifelong learning, development of reading skills, critical thinking, information, digital and media literacy, mastery of Ukrainian and foreign languages. Libraries contribute to scientific discoveries, innovations and integration of Ukrainian science into the global scientific environment. Libraries are centers of psychological support: here they help people maintain and strengthen their resilience. Libraries are spaces of civic activism and rallying people around overcoming challenges. Libraries are also volunteer centers, they unite those who care and organize assistance for IDPs and the Armed Forces of Ukraine."

We all thank our defenders, thanks to whom we can live and work today! We believe in VICTORY!

Dear librarians and readers, everyone who loves to read, respects books, and supports libraries! We congratulate you on the All-Ukrainian Library Day!

Lyudmila BURYACHYNSKA,
Head of the BIC
