"Rivne Professional College of
National University of Life
and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine"
On March 11, 2025, students of the general education department of the 11th group, together with curator L. R. Trygubets, visited the Amber Museum.
During the excursion, the students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the museum exhibits - various amber stones, which were found in the Rivne region at different times. Polesie amber is characterized by its originality and is considered a precious stone, very diverse in shades of its color. If in the world there are mainly yellow and brown stones, then yellow-green, light green and even bluish-green varieties are characteristic of Polesie amber. Among the museum exhibits are pieces of amber up to 40,000,000 years old, the largest of which weighs 2 kg. In addition to stones, jewelry, paintings made with its use, ceramics and stained glass, as well as clothes and shoes decorated with amber are presented. The students examined with interest the stones with insects crystallized inside; they are considered the most valuable exhibits of the museum, as they demonstrate the evolution of the organic world of past eras. The students also had the opportunity to learn about the history of amber mining in Polissya and the activities of the only amber processing enterprise in Ukraine, which is a kind of business card of the Rivne region.
The exhibition made a great impression on the students, expanding their knowledge of the history of their native land. The exclusivity and uniqueness of products made from this stone immersed us in the world of beauty.
