Open English class on the topic "Personal Priorities in Nutrition"

On October 31, in the library reading room as part of the Humanities Week, an English teacher Lyubov PROTASEVICH spent open class on the topic "Personal priorities in nutrition" with students of the 22-K group.

This topic is relevant for several reasons:

1. Expanding vocabulary: Discussing food preferences helps students learn new vocabulary related to foods, diet, diets, and personal dietary preferences. This includes words to describe tastes, healthiness, nutritional value, and the names of different foods and dishes that are part of everyday life.

2. Communication skills: Food is a topic that is close to everyone, so students can easily express their thoughts, share their preferences and habits. This helps improve speaking skills by discussing their own habits and listening to the views of others.

3. Intercultural understanding: Food preferences vary across cultures. Discussing the topic can develop an understanding of other cultures, as well as dietary preferences and attitudes toward healthy living.

4. Relevance in the modern world: With the growing interest in healthy living and conscious consumption, it is important to discuss how nutrition can affect health. This allows you to learn words and expressions related to diets, healthy foods, and the negative effects of certain foods.

5. Developing critical thinking: By discussing their dietary priorities, students learn to justify their choices, compare different approaches, and perhaps even analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different types of nutrition.

Such a topic in an English class promotes language development in a context that is familiar and interesting to many students, and helps form new language skills in communication on everyday topics.

The open class was attended by Lyudmila BALDYCH, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs; Tetyana KRYSTOPCHUK, chairman of the cyclical commission of humanitarian disciplines; Volodymyr ZAKHARCHUK, lecturer of the cyclical commission of legal and social disciplines and Iryna DEMYDKO, head of the office.
