On March 13, 2025, a guest lecture on the topic of the Dutch experience of land consolidation was held for students of the Higher Educational Institution "Geodesy and Land Management", with the assistance of Taras EVSYUKOV, Professor, Doctor of Economics, Dean of the Faculty of Land Management of the NUBiP of Ukraine.
Guest speaker Jan SPYKERBUR, Senior Advisor for Territorial Development and Real Estate Management, Dutch Cadastre (Kadaster Netherlands).
The purpose of the event: to reveal the importance of the cadastral system in the process of land consolidation and effective land management; to consider the challenges and lessons that can be used for Ukraine. This topic is extremely relevant, especially for countries striving for effective land management.
Jan Spykerboer's lecture was devoted to key aspects of land consolidation in the Netherlands. He spoke in detail about the legislative framework and practical methods used in the Netherlands to unite fragmented land plots. Particular attention was paid to how consolidation contributes to increasing agricultural efficiency and improving infrastructure.
Jan Spykerboer highlighted the crucial role of the cadastral system in the consolidation process, ensuring accurate registration and management of land data. He spoke about the use of modern technologies, such as GIS, to streamline this process.
The experience of the province of Zeeland, where land consolidation projects are being successfully implemented, was separately considered. Strategies for implementing land banking in the province of Zeeland were considered.
The lecturer also discussed the challenges faced during consolidation and the lessons that can be learned from the Dutch experience. Issues of land fragmentation were addressed.
Jan Spykerboer's lecture provided valuable information about the successful experience of the Netherlands in land consolidation. This knowledge can be useful for Ukraine and other countries seeking to improve the management of their land resources.
