Everything stops when there is no inspiration.
Even when you don't have the strength, everything goes well.
Of course, through me, but rapidly and dynamically.
Fatigue doesn't get in the way when you have your own vision of God.
Then poems are written in the subway,
Then the musical accompaniment becomes clear,
Which I constantly pick up for every walk through the buildings.
I allocate a beat for each step,
At each entrance, a stanza,
A symphony for each building.

A star that will not fade. That's what Veronika Kozhushko is called. An 18-year-old girl is a famous artist in Kharkiv. She painted pictures and wrote poems. Nika died at the age of 18 as a result of a missile strike on Kharkiv on August 30, 2024 and left behind a small but expressive creative legacy. Exhibitions have begun to be organized throughout Ukraine in her memory.

On Sunday, February 2, an evening in memory of Veronika Kozhushko was held at the Rivne Regional Museum of Local Lore.

During the evening of remembrance, poems written by Veronika were performed by young Rivne poets (Fedor Tykhy, Tatyana Legka, Ilya Yevdokimov), memories of the young artist's life, as well as songs performed by the master project "Spivanka". Famous guests of the evening were Ukrainian writer, radio host and publisher Max Kidruk and Rivne actor Korniy Demydyuk.

Veronika researched the Ukrainian “Shooted Renaissance”. Her favorite poet was Mykhailo Semenko. She wrote poetry herself, and also drew. Veronika had no art education, she studied at the National University of Radio Electronics, majoring in multimedia. She learned to draw on her own. She had her own style and created striking images.

Veronika was delighted with the poetry of Serhiy Zhadan. She often made illustrations, inspired by his poems. And it was to Zhadan that the young artist sent her last drawing an hour before her death.

Nika actively promoted Ukrainian culture. She produced and distributed shoppers and postcards with portraits of her favorite Ukrainian writers and poets. She also volunteered at a literary museum.

Veronika's father Igor Kozhushko and family friend Artem Revchuk initiated the creation of a charitable foundation in her honor. In addition to the creation of a charitable foundation and the publication of a book with Nika's drawings and works, her friends are also initiating the establishment of the Veronika Kozhushko Memorial Award to support creative youth.

She was thirsty for everything Ukrainian, everything was interesting... And she is no longer here. Her drawings remain...
