Resume – this is the very first and very important document that provides an employer with an informal acquaintance with a job applicant. It forms the first place and, of course, the most important impression of a person. Therefore, the content of the resume should be based on the positive qualities of the applicant.

Why do you need a resume?

A resume is one of the most effective tools for finding a job. It is a short summary of the most important facts of your biography for an employer, usually related to your work, skills and knowledge. As a rule, it takes no more than one minute to review a resume, so it is very important to immediately attract the employer's attention, interest him and encourage him to schedule an interview with you. When writing a resume, it is important to remember that it will become your business card and should distinguish you from the general public of people looking for a job.

TECHNIQUES FOR COMMUNICATING WITH AN EMPLOYER

An interview with an employer is an important stage in the job search process. Success often depends on the ability to present yourself from the best side, make a good impression, and convince the employer that you are exactly the person they need.

An interview is a preliminary meeting between both interested parties, during which it is determined whether your professional level meets the requirements of the vacancy.

Follow the main rules of the interview, namely:

come on time;

behave calmly, confidently and correctly;

be kind;

When meeting someone, smile and remember their name;

wait for an invitation to sit down;

You may be asked to fill out a questionnaire or take a test – do not refuse or enter into an argument;

sit straight, maintain eye contact with the person you are talking to, show attention and interest, and your tone of voice should be friendly and expressive;

if you do not understand a question, it would be correct to clarify it;

Answer briefly and to the point. The information about you must be accurate, truthful and reliable;

listen to what they tell you;

show your desire to learn about what you don't know;

you don't need to interrupt the employer to insert your comment;

you should not show excessive interest, even if you really want to fill the vacancy;

Prepare a list of questions for your employer.

How to end an interview properly:

make sure that the employer has received complete and clear information from you;

agree on how long you can expect a response;

ask if you can call yourself and find out the result;

smile and thank the employer for the conversation;

After the interview, analyze your actions and chances of employment.

REMEMBER! Any result is experience and another step towards the goal.

Employment – It's a serious matter, and the candidate should look solid in all his/her manifestations. If your profession requires a portfolio, create your own page on the Internet and link to it in your resume. If the employer decides to read it, he/she will be able to do so easily.

The most important for the employer:

Sociability, openness in communication. The employer will appreciate your experience in speaking, the ability to participate in presentations, and to draft documents competently and effectively. It is important for him that you can communicate with clients and the organization's team, as well as be able to present the organization to clients and partners, if necessary;

Responsibility. Did you personally carry out any activities? What were you responsible for in your previous job (study)?

Organizational skills.

Confidence in one's abilities.

Energy. Will you be active in your work, or is work for you a passive fulfillment of assigned duties? Are you willing to work weekends and overtime if necessary?

Flexibility. Ability to self-learn, the ability to quickly navigate the information environment, adapt to technological, informational, and legal changes.

Overcoming conflict situations.

How to stay at a new job

If the employer has made their choice, you must remember that the "ideal" employee:

knows how to work in a team;

asks questions if he does not understand something, rather than carrying out instructions silently and with errors;

arrives at work on time;

dresses accordingly;

polite and friendly;

knows how to accept criticism;

shows initiative in work;

loves his job;

flexible;

honest;

aims for high standards in work.
