On February 14, 2024, students of the specialty "Geodesy and Land Management" met with politician, scientist, businessman-agriculturalist, president of the Institute of Geopolitics and Strategic Management Vitaliy Skotsyk. The event took place at the Palace of Culture "Textileman".
During the event, our famous compatriot - Doctor of Economics, Doctor of Strategic Management, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, author of the books "How to Live in an Era of Change", "The Perfect Storm" and others - provided answers to a number of questions about the land market. After all, from January 1, 2024, a new stage of the implementation of the law "On the Land Market" begins - the market opens to legal entities. Citizens will also receive the right to acquire ownership of up to 10 thousand hectares of land. The law prohibits foreigners from buying land: according to the law, foreigners will be able to buy Ukrainian land only after the adoption of a corresponding decision at a nationwide referendum. It is not known when it will take place.
In addition, on December 21, 2023, Dmytro Razumkov and a group of people's deputies submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to postpone the opening of the land market for legal entities and increase the size of land plots acquired by one person. The deputies want to postpone the introduction of these norms until January 1, 2025.
Therefore, how appropriate is the introduction of a new law on the land market during a war, what will it be like, and what are the predicted consequences of new land relations in Ukraine? This question remains open.
