On March 21, 2024, students of groups 21-Z and 22-Z of the specialty "Geodesy and Land Management" became participants in the thematic meeting "The Water We Use: Level of Safety and Quality of Water in the Rivne Region", organized by teachers By Stefania MALIMON and By Halyna BUSLENKO with the assistance of the Rivne Regional Universal Scientific Library. The event is dedicated to World Water Day.
The applicants were met by the chief specialist of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Rivne Regional State Administration Iryna KHUDOBA and Deputy Director for Commercial Activities of the Rivne Regional Production Municipal Enterprise of Water Supply and Sewerage "Rivneoblvodokanal" Mykola TKACHUK.
The meeting raised issues of the state of water resources in Ukraine and, in particular, in the Rivne region. Thus, the characteristics and analysis of the quality of water bodies in the Rivne region were presented to the audience by Ms. Iryna. The participants also discussed wastewater discharges into the rivers of the region, the rules for treating these waters, and the need for treatment facilities at enterprises, especially those specializing in dairy products.
Rivne Regional Production Municipal Enterprise of Water Supply and Sewerage "Rivneoblvodokanal" ensures the uninterrupted operation of the water supply system for the population and purifies the city's wastewater. Mykola TKACHUK spoke about the technical characteristics of wells for water supply and the processes of its treatment. The expert noted that you can not be afraid to drink water from taps in the city of Rivne.
During the meeting, students tasted water: tap, mineral, or purified by the Aqua-Voda company.
Summing up, Stefania Stefanivna emphasized the importance of such meetings for forming the environmental awareness of future specialists regarding the use and conservation of water resources. After all, water is life, and clean water is the basis of health.
