Within the framework of the activities of the Association of Alumni of Rivne Vocational College, an inspiring meeting of students with graduates of the Information Technology Department took place, which became an important source of motivation and advice for education seekers. It is worth noting that such meetings are regularly organized by the Information Technology Department in order to inform students about real career opportunities in the IT field and practical recommendations.
In particular, the students of the department were participants in a seminar on the topic "Prospects of dual education in the IT sphere", the purpose of which is consisted in defining the concept and main priorities of dual education for students of graduating groups of specialty 121 "Software Engineering", establishing the interdependence of the tandem "EDUCATION - WORK" in the IT sphere, the feasibility of continuing education and obtaining higher education as a perspective for the development of a competitive IT specialist. A representative of the IT sphere of Rivne was invited as part of the event Victoria YELLOW-BELLY, regional director Mindy Support, which informed education seekers about the presence of IT companies and organizations in Rivne and their willingness to cooperate with students within the framework of technological practices and, in the future, become their potential employers.
The graduating students also had the opportunity to listen to a guest lecture on the topic "Game Development: How to Get into the GameDev Field?". The invited guest was a college graduate from the programming department, the owner of a game development studio RWG Orest BOSCHCHENKO. He shared his knowledge and experience with students, guiding the younger generation on the path to success in the video game industry and talked about the game development process in practice, revealing the intricacies and secrets of creating the most popular games on the market.
At the final meeting, college graduates, including the head of the information technology department Iryna YAKYMCHUK, Chairman of the Programming and Information Technology Cycle Commission Oksana KUDELYA and department teachers Serhiy KONDYUK, Pavlo STRIK, Yuriy NOVAK, Yevheniy MASTALYARCHUK, Vitaliy KRUPENYA, Victoria ARTEMCHUK, emphasized the importance of continuous development and learning throughout one's career, as the IT field is changing extremely rapidly.
It was emphasized that the knowledge gained during training is an important foundation, but success depends on constant work on oneself, participation in projects and internships that allow you to gain real experience.
For students, this meeting was a great opportunity to ask questions about real challenges that may arise on their career path. Graduates not only shared their success stories, but also provided practical advice on finding their first job, building a professional network, and how to adapt to the rapidly growing demand for new technologies.
Tips for students:
1. Develop soft skills – communication, teamwork, and creativity become no less important than technical knowledge.
2. Don't be afraid of mistakes. – success in IT often comes through experimentation and learning from your own mistakes.
3. Constantly learning – technical knowledge becomes outdated quickly, so you need to be ready for self-education and new challenges.
Thanks to such events, students gain invaluable experience, inspiration, and the understanding that their dreams of a successful career in the IT field are achievable if they are willing to work and develop.
