On September 12, 2024, a student computer graphics competition was held, during which students of the programming department competed in a creative task on the theme "With Ukraine in my heart." Participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic abilities and technical skills by creating a heart-shaped collage that reflects the richness of Ukrainian culture and symbolizes support for their native country.
The organizing committee of the Olympiad, which included Stryk P.M., Kudelya O.O. and Yakymchuk I.O., ensured a high level of organization of the event, providing participants with clear instructions and creative freedom in completing the task. The task of the competition was to create a unique collage that not only conveys aesthetic richness, but also emotionally expresses patriotic feelings.
Task description:
Participants received detailed instructions on how to complete the work:
1. Heart shape: the collage was to be based on a heart shape, symbolizing love and devotion to Ukraine.
2. Elements of Ukrainian culture:
about Architecture: students had to add images of traditional Ukrainian buildings, including churches with domes and huts with thatched roofs.
about Musical instruments: An important part of the assignment was to include images of the bandura, sopilka, and other traditional Ukrainian musical instruments.
about Agricultural elements: wheat and sunflowers, as symbols of Ukrainian land and fertility, were also mandatory elements.
about National symbols: the use of the trident, the flag of Ukraine, and other national symbols emphasized the patriotic context of the task.
3. Text: students had to add inscriptions expressing support for Ukraine, such as "Support Ukraine!" or other slogans.
4. Frame: decorating the image with traditional Ukrainian ornaments around the edges added a national flavor to the collage.
5. Color scheme: the use of blue-yellow colors associated with the Ukrainian flag, as well as natural shades for other elements, became a mandatory requirement.
The participants worked on their collages for two hours, demonstrating a creative approach and a deep understanding of Ukrainian culture. It was a real challenge that required not only technical skill, but also the ability to convey emotional depth and national identity.

The Olympiad demonstrated the high level of preparedness of the students, their ability to work with graphic editors, and their desire to embody patriotic motifs in their work. After completing the competition task, the participants' work was evaluated by a jury, which paid attention to creativity, relevance to the topic, and technical quality of execution.
