The issue of recruitment of Ukrainian teenagers by Russian special services is extremely important in the context of the hybrid war that Russia is waging against Ukraine. Through social networks, gaming platforms and messengers, Russian special services are trying to involve young people in activities that harm national security. This may include intelligence gathering, sabotage, the spread of fake news or information influence.
March 7, 2025 curator of the 23rd IP group Veremchuk Iryna Yuriivna conducted an educational hour with elements of training on the topic "Recruitment of youth by Russian special services" The training is aimed at raising awareness among young people and strengthening Ukraine's information security.
During the class, students created a photo of a Russian agent, critically evaluating the traits and psychological characteristics that this person may have. The training participants paid special attention to intellectual and communicative abilities.
During the class, the teenager's personality, which could be of interest to criminals, was not left aside. The students analyzed the features of appearance and aspects of behavior that would interest a Russian agent when choosing a victim for further crimes.
During the class, we watched the video fragments "How Russia Recruits Ukrainian Children" and "The FSBshnyk's Sleep" recommended for viewing by the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine to counter the recruitment of young people, which highlighted such important issues as:
• Crimes committed by teenagers under pressure from hostile "curators."
• Recruitment methods
• How to protect yourself from recruitment
• Criminal liability for collaboration with the enemy
The educational hour addressed an important topic that should be discussed with young people more often to prevent potential threats. Knowledge is our main shield in the war against enemy propaganda and manipulation.
