Since October 2023, an environmental project has been operating at the RFK NUBiP of Ukraine. "Sorting garbage is everyone's duty", which was initiated by members of the environmental group "Source" under the leadership of an ecology teacher Stephanie MALIMONCollege employees and students sorted paper, plastic, and batteries, while the club members monitored the fullness of the containers and helped take the waste paper to recycling centers. The first results are already available. 320 kg of paper was donated, and the proceeds in amount of 1000 UAH directed to the charity campaign "The Armed Forces of Ukraine NEED DRONES. HELP DESTROY THE ENEMY!", which takes place at the institution.
Environmental friendliness of the project:
- Forests are the lungs of the planet, reducing the greenhouse effect
- 1 tree – processes 1 ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime
- 1 tree – releases 100 m³ of oxygen per year
According to the Information and Image Management Association recycling 1 ton of paper saves:
- 17 trees
- 26 thousand liters of water
- 3 m³ of land
- 240 liters of fuel
- 4 thousand kWh of electricity
To save from deforestation one tree needs to be redone 80 kg of waste paper.
Saving paper is an important task for everyone.
