On October 29, 2024, the teachers of the cyclical commission of land management disciplines Oleksandr KUSHNIRUK and Oleh KACHANOVSKYY conducted a practical (binary) lesson on the disciplines "Photogrammetry" and "Automated Land and Cadastral Information System" for students of groups 41-3 and 42-3.
Purpose of the lesson – students acquire competencies in creating a project for the plan-height reference of aerial photography materials using the DJI Mavic 3 Pro unmanned aerial vehicle and determining the geodetic coordinates of reference points using SOUTH NTS 352R electronic total stations.
Modern aerial photography requires a whole complex of works - this is coordination of activities in the airspace; plan-height orientation; preparation of a work plan; adjustment of all equipment; aviation works; processing of data from geodetic receivers; photogrammetric processing or laser scanning processing; obtaining production products. An important component of which is plan-height reference for marking terrain objects, geodetic network points and selection of terrain contours.
Accordingly, the practical session consisted of two mutually coordinated parts: field geodetic work and aerial photography.
Field geodetic The work was carried out using electronic total stations SOUTH NTS 352R. The geodetic base plays an important role in the process of topographic surveying, creating a planned justification for ensuring high accuracy and reliability of the data obtainedA modern total station, as an electro-optical device, makes it possible to measure horizontal and vertical angles, distances, and elevations, which is necessary for performing plan-altitude (tacheometric) surveying of the terrain.
One of the key stages of the lesson is the establishment of a plan-height justification through a network of control points (markers) on the terrain. For this, pickets were used, the coordinates of which were determined using an electronic total station. This provided accurate landmarks during subsequent surveying work.
Aerophotography The study was conducted by students using a DJI Mavic 3 Pro unmanned aerial vehicle according to a prepared plan-height reference project, which will allow creating a topographic orthophoto plan of the college territory.
Lesson result – students gained practical experience in marking landmarks on the ground, determining their geodetic coordinates using modern geodetic instruments, conducting aerial UAV surveys along a prepared route, and acquired the necessary competencies for professional activity in their chosen specialty.
