Round table: "Career Day". Meeting with college graduates of specialty 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market"

On October 24, 2024, as part of the week of economic disciplines for students of the economics department, a round table on the topic "Career Day" was held, dedicated to meeting with graduates of the specialty 072 "Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market". The meeting was organized by the leaders of the "Finance" group, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Teacher-Methodologist Viktor POZNAKHOVSKYY, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Teacher-Methodologist Alla HNATYUK, Teacher-Methodologist Natalia PASTUSHENKO, Head of the Economics Department Iryna MARTYNOVA.

The purpose of holding such an event is to:

1) learn about current trends in the labor market;

2) to develop in students an understanding of the necessary professional competencies and skills that are valued by employers;

3) to develop in students an understanding of the necessary professional competencies and skills that are valued by employers;

4) to enable students to receive useful advice on building a career from those who have already completed their professional path.

The meeting was attended by graduates of different years who, after completing their studies at the college, continued their professional path and achieved significant success in the financial sector. Among our guests were:

1. Dembasyuk Dmytro – Chief Small Business Specialist of the Regional Division of the Regional Department of PrivatBank, Kyiv, 2016 graduate of specialty 072 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market”;

2. Syokh Diana – cashier of the Oschadbank branch in Rivne, graduate of 2019, specialty 072 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market”;

3. Iryna Rys – manager of the Skinbar Shop (cosmetics store), graduate of 2023;

4. Dogadin Vadym – Chief State Inspector of the Main Department of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the Rivne region, graduate of 2021.

The guests were happy to share their own success stories, talk about the challenges that young professionals face, and emphasize the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement. Each of the graduates not only shared their own experiences, but also gave valuable advice on how students can better prepare for entering the labor market and avoid typical mistakes at the start of their careers.

The roundtable participants paid special attention to the topic of developing self-presentation and communication skills, which are key in the employment process. Graduates emphasized the importance of developing flexible skills, such as adaptability and emotional intelligence, which help to clearly and quickly solve any issues. Among the practical tips was also the ability to set clear goals and work on self-discipline, which is especially important in the early stages of a career.

The administration of our college also came to such a warm meeting: college methodologist, candidate of scientific sciences, teacher-methodologist Vadym LYULCHYK, Deputy Director for Production Work, Ph.D., Lecturer-Methodologist Taras SASOVSKY, as well as teachers of the economics department: head of the cyclical commission of economic disciplines, teacher-methodologist Oksana KONONCHUK and teacher-methodologist Iryna BONDARCHUK.

The event was held in the format of active dialogue and discussion. The students enthusiastically asked many questions related to both practical aspects of professional activity and the graduates' own experience. Thanks to such meetings, our students gain invaluable experience and motivation. We hope that this event will become an important step on the path to building a successful professional career for many of our students.
