Teachers and students of specialty 193 "Geodesy and Land Management" took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "SOIL MONITORING. REALITIES, CHALLENGES, PROSPECTS". The event was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the founding of the State Institution "State Soil Protection".
For 60 years, the main task of the state institution "Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine" has been to monitor soil fertility to ensure the implementation of state control over the state of the main national wealth of Ukraine - soils. The institution was founded in 1964 by organizing a network of 25 zonal agrochemical laboratories. Currently, it is a certified scientific state institution, which is included in the register of scientific institutions that receive state support, is based on state ownership and belongs to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. This is the only institution in the country that conducts agrochemical inspection of agricultural lands with the issuance of an agrochemical passport of the field of the land plot.
Experts from 39 scientific institutions in Ukraine and abroad (Great Britain, Spain, Italy, the People's Republic of China, Mexico, the Republic of Moldova, the Slovak Republic, the United States of America) presented more than 90 abstracts, some of which were heard at the plenary and working parts of the conference. The topics of the abstracts corresponded to the directions of the conference, namely soil monitoring, combating soil degradation and desertification, and the impact of hostilities on the soil cover of Ukraine.
Nelya RUSINA and Olga PETROVA presented their research on the topic "Land management working project for improving the condition of agricultural lands as an effective measure for the preservation, restoration, and protection of soil fertility."
It should be noted that the Rivne Regional Center of the State Institution "Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine" is a partner of our educational institution, with which a cooperation agreement has been concluded. It was very important for us to join the scientific event and congratulations on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the institution.
We thank the management of the State Institution "Institute of Soil Protection of Ukraine" for the invitation and cooperation. After all, the tasks performed by the institution are and will be especially important in rebuilding the state after the end of the war.
