Reading in Wartime. Open Access Electronic Resources

Why reading is important during war: books are a means of combating missiles and enemy IEDs. Reading and access to books not only provide access to knowledge, but also contribute to the development of critical thinking, imagination, and culture.

Reading can be a great way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, helping us calm our minds and relieve stress.

Every day our country suffers from enemy shelling. What to do in such a situation – do not panic, believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, do everything possible to help bring our victory closer and… read. After all, a book is a kind of weapon in the war against the enemy. Therefore – read!

From childhood, human consciousness is formed through books and literary works. What narratives are formed - imperial or universal, depends on the writers and the state that tolerates the corresponding policy. The Russians know about this and are importing tons of books to the occupied territories. As we can see, a book is a weapon now, during a war. Therefore, it is worth reading a Ukrainian book.
