On May 27, 2024, an interesting and informative guest lecture-excursion to the snail farm "VerbaraVLyk2020" took place. The event was attended by students of the 21-O group and members of the "Accountant" club of the economic department, specialty 071 "Accounting and Taxation" under the guidance of teachers of economic disciplines Lyubov MATVIYCHUK, Iryna BONDARCHU and group curator Oksana CHERNACHUK.
The purpose of the guest lecture-excursion to production is to form in students professional skills and experience in organizing accounting and analytical work at enterprises of various forms of ownership, the ability to make independent decisions in a specific area of work in real production conditions when performing duties inherent in their future profession, organizational, managerial and social activities.
In the village of Verba, Dubno district, in the Rivne region, there is a snail farm called VerbaraVLyk2020, one of the leaders in growing and importing snails to Ukrainian stores and abroad. The farm is managed by Yulia KHOMITSKA.
During the excursion, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities of conducting economic activities on the farm, the technology of growing snails and their life cycles, the composition of the costs of their production. The information received is very useful and informative for students and can be used by them in their educational and professional activities.
Snail business in Ukraine is a promising direction for both the domestic and foreign markets, as modern consumers are increasingly paying attention to environmentally friendly products. It can be called highly profitable, the enterprise pays off in 1-2 seasons, depending on the volume of production. On average, the profitability of production for 20-30 tons of snails is 30-40%.
Having become familiar with the production processes of snail farming, the students gained an understanding of which branch of agriculture snail production belongs to, how the feed base for their cultivation is provided, what material values are used in the production process, what types of products are obtained from production and its processing, and who are the main consumers of snail products.
