On March 5, 2025, an online meeting of the working group of information and library specialists was held, initiated by the Scientific and Methodological Center of the VFPO. The meeting was attended by Mykola Khomenko, Deputy Director for Educational and Methodological Work of the NMC VFPO; Iryna Lepekha, Head of the Department of Social and Pedagogical Work; Natalia Divinska, Methodologist of the NMC, and more than 280 heads of libraries of institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education. The head of the BIC, Lyudmila Buryachynska, joined the discussion and approval of the draft Regulation on the Council of Library Specialists.
Speakers of the online event – Svitlana Samoilova, director of the library of the Kharkiv Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy with a topical topic: “Use of library resources in distance learning in wartime conditions”; Olga Shkira, director of the library of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda University in Pereyaslav with a topic: “Information landscape in the library environment”. The Council's activities are aimed at solving the problems of modeling and planning the activities and development of libraries of higher and professional pre-higher education institutions; creating a modern information space; implementing information, educational, cultural and educational activities; promoting national-patriotic education and comprehensive development of the individual; promoting and supporting institutional, national and pan-European initiatives for the continuous professional development of scientific and pedagogical and pedagogical workers; promoting the integration of scientific, educational and production activities in the branches of the economy; developing international cooperation and promoting the integration of the education and science system into the global educational space; deepening cooperation in improving the general and professional competencies of specialists in information, library and archival matters in order to implement relevant educational tasks; establishing cooperation between libraries of higher and professional pre-higher education institutions, etc.
