On November 25, college students visited the Rivne Academic Music and Drama Theater.
The Cripple of Inishmaan is one of the most famous plays by playwright, Oscar-winning screenwriter and director Martin McDonagh. It is a brilliant Irish comedy that is not without its poignant, sensual moments.
This is a story about the inhabitants of a small island, a few kilometers long. At first glance, intolerant of the circumstances in which they live and ultimately of each other, simple and uncouth, they turn out to be loving and noble.
There are those, like young Calico Billy, who dream of leaving the island, calling it nothing more than a “hole.” Yet they love their land and return to this land far from civilization, even from the fabulous Hollywood.
