GIS Day is an annual international event dedicated to geographic information systems (GIS). This day brings together specialists, scientists, students and everyone interested in geospatial technologies from all over the world to exchange experiences, demonstrate new developments and popularize the use of GIS in various spheres of life.
This year's theme focuses on how GIS technologies are reforming our perception of the world around us, helping us discover new patterns, build a sustainable future, and make more informed decisions based on geospatial data.
Teachers and students of specialty 193 "Geodesy and Land Management" are a small part of the large family of GIS specialists. Every year they join the celebration, organizing various events dedicated to this event.
A number of events will be held today, such as:
- meeting with Vitaliy LOPUSHANSKY, head of the GIS department of UADamage – a platform for the reconstruction of Ukraine, organized by Olga RUDKO and Oleksandr KUSHNIRUK;
- QUEST "On the Paths of the Old City", organized by Oleg KACHANOVSKY;
- Geoquest "Geo-Tech 2024", organized by Serhiy BULAKEVYCH.
So, this year we explore how GIS allows us to see the world with a new perspective, discover hidden connections, and make decisions that have a positive impact on our lives.
